Paper on IEC 61850 |

Following the success of the NamPower automation contract, CONCO was invited to present a paper on the IEC 61850 technical achievements on the project. The paper was presented at the Western Power Delivery and Automation Conference, held at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane, Washington. The paper was presented by Dorran Bekker of CONCO’s Automation division. The presentation went very well with great interest shown in the use of IEC 61850 in a substation. After the presentation some further questions and discussions took place with many different integrators and utilities from across the world.
The following day, a tour of the Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) factory was conducted. The presentation was repeated for the benefit of the SEL Research and Development team.
